Join and Resolve Features for Agentic Web Portal — September 30, 2026
I shipped new join category pages and enhanced the resolve service with escrow features for the agentic web portal. Here's how it went down.
What shipped
- New Join Category Pages — Introduced category-aware signup pages for better user onboarding.
- Enhanced Resolve Service — Added escrow settlement and evidence-backed dispute pages.
- Improved Scanner Functionality — Scanner cards now offer join and category search options.
- Content Sanitization — Implemented cleanSiteProse to enhance content quality.
- Google Review Integration — Updated review digest functionality for better user insights.
Today, I focused on shipping several key features for the agentic web portal, primarily enhancing the join experience and the resolve service functionality. After a long 16-hour day, I successfully implemented category signup pages that guide users through a more intuitive onboarding process. This new flow is aimed at increasing conversions while providing a clearer path for users who are interested in specific sections of the platform.
The most notable change was the addition of category signup pages at /join/[section]. These pages come with a fresh look, leveraging semantic tokens to create category-aware copy that engages users right from the start. By funneling users into the checkout process for their respective categories, I hope to see a marked improvement in signup rates. However, it wasn't all smooth sailing. There were a few hiccups along the way, particularly with how the scanner 'Join' functioned, which I had to redirect from the old gold hashtag.name register to this new setup. Getting the flow just right took longer than I anticipated, but I believe the end result is worth it.
Another major area of improvement was the resolve service. I took significant steps to ensure that the case creation process is not only user-friendly but also secure. The new features allow for evidence-backed dispute pages and escrow settlement, which adds a layer of trust for users engaging in potentially contentious situations. I integrated a Stripe escrow settlement mechanism that notifies respondents and allows claimants to confirm and release funds. This enhancement is crucial for fostering a reliable environment for dispute resolution, and I’m eager to see how it impacts user trust and engagement.
I also revamped the home and vault sections, introducing a dual functionality in the scanner cards that now offers both a join option and a category search. This should streamline the user experience significantly. Additionally, I've added an image shield and per-viewer watermark for subscriber media in the vault, which will help trace any leaks and maintain content integrity. These security features were time-consuming to implement but necessary for the trustworthiness of the platform.
On the technical side, I made sure to sanitize all scraped site prose before it shipped. This involved creating a cleanSiteProse function that strips out raw URLs, percent-encodings, and other junk text that could confuse users or compromise the quality of the content. This was particularly challenging because it required a thorough review of existing content, but it’s essential for maintaining the high standards I set for the platform. I also updated the Google review digest functionality, allowing for a more robust integration with our existing data. This involved a careful process of capping the number of calls and ensuring that the top reviews were accurately reflected in the outputs.
Throughout the day, I had to navigate a few dead ends, particularly with how the articles were being generated. I initially faced issues with the paragraph formatting in the multi-paragraph articles, which needed to be flattened for a more coherent reading experience. After some trial and error, I was able to establish a system that reconstructs display paragraphs locally while keeping the factual integrity intact. This was a significant learning moment for me, as it reinforced the importance of structuring content for readability without sacrificing detail.
In reflecting on today’s work, I’m reminded of the challenges of building this platform mostly solo. Relying on AI tools like Claude Code in VS Code has been a game changer, allowing me to tackle tasks that would otherwise require a larger team. It’s empowering to know that I can push forward toward my one-man-show goal with a billion-dollar valuation while maintaining control over the quality and direction of the project. Each feature I ship brings me one step closer to realizing this vision, and though the grind can be exhausting, the progress keeps me motivated. Tomorrow, I’ll dive deeper into refining the user experience and exploring additional features that can further enhance the agentic web experience.
